Retard complains to the Advertising Standards

Fucking honestly.

G Parsons, is a fucking moron.

This halfwit took the time out of their life to complain about a free windscreen repair ad.

"It's not free. I've rung them and they will put it through on your insurance so it is paid for at some point!"

You, G Parsons, are a fucktard. Get a fucking life.

Idiot.

$84000 in a year for travel, but don't say anything, you racist bastard

I see an official of "Te Free Stuff while Whitey Pays" has managed to spend $84000 of taxpayer cash on travel in 12 months. National has finally asked why.

$84000 dollars. In a year. To have a crony appointed to a useless and pointless organisation. On the taxpayer.

So, if this gets picked up by the "News" organisations in this country, wait for the screams of "Maori Bashing" "Racist" (or my favourite, Rachist) from the militant Maori giving the hard working ones a bad name.

I'd nominate this halfwit for the Biggest Balls in the World award, but it's pretty common for Maori in positions of authority to burn taxpayer cash like it's going out of fashion.

Incidentally, since there is a "Maori Affairs" department, can we start a "White Affairs" department too??

Or would that be "Rachist"

Lolly scramble

Labour have unleased their tax cut promise in order to grimly hang on to power for another 3 years.

The deitys in Helengrad have decided to honour us by giving us some of our money back. Sweet. I could use a packet of chewing gum.

Everyone gets a little bit. Way to drive high-income earners offshore, morons. These half-wits tac the living bejesus out of us for 8 years, then we are meant to kiss their fat, taxpayer funded, overpaid, underworked asses for getting some of our money back.

Of course, I'm sure Uncle Helen will want to make sure every beneficiary gets a tax cut. Who the fuck else will vote for those Bastards.

Well, have to teach the kids something

How about how to hunt whales.

As usual, Greenpeace are having a fit. A stinky, unwashed, hairy fit.

Awesome.

Toyworld, please don't remove this from sale. I have been searching for the perfect gift for months.

National fucks up their Law & Order policy

NZ's Prime Minister in waiting (Please oh please, Helen can't win again. The country couldn't take it) has released his Party's Law & Order policy for if they win the 2008 election. Here, have a link.

Amonst policys I agree with, such as reintroduction of Tasers and fixing Labour's fuck-up with bail laws, is a bit of a curly policy; namely the DNA testing of anyone arrested of crimes with carry a prison sentence. My concern is the degrading of the "Innocent until proven guilty" part of the law system.

I've got a lot of time for John Key, and I think he will make a fantastic Prime Minister, but this is, I'm sorry to say, a cock-up.

And the Mallard/Henare saga drags on

For crying out loud. will it ever end? Some busybody accountant has filed charges against Mallard with the police because he thinks that Mallard shouldn't be above the law. Story here.

Although, I notice the accountant in question is in court in December for "tax related" charges. Maybe he's just trying to divert attention from his own crimes.

New award

I've decided to start issuing my own awards from time to time.

They will the called "The What's Going on in NZ Biggest Balls in the World Award"

The first lucky recipient is the new master of pranking who send a Fly Buys card in the the name of " U R Fucking Whore" to some bint and her family in Christchurch. Story is here.

This genius managed to get the Flybuys internet registration to send the card, without being reviewed by someone prior to creating the card and sending it out.

I love that this woman had nightmares that someone was out to get her. I'm waiting for someone to send her a Credit card in the name of I P Freely. I think she'll have a nervous breakdown.

And what this article didn't say, but was on the news last night, was that this family wanted compensation from Fly Buys and were upset that none had been offered. What, precisely, they wanted compensation for wasn't specified. Funnily enough. Maybe they should say they are Maori, they'll have compensation coming out of their ears.

And if anyone's wondering, Flybuys claim to have closed the loophole which allowed this to happen.

So, mysterious prankster, you are the first winner of the WGOINZBBITWA. Congratulations.

Scooter riders are lunatics

Two posts in one day. You lucky, lucky bastards.

While I'm on the subject of bikes and bikers, has anyone else noticed how batshit insane scooter riders are?

I see them daily taking their lives in their hands (as, to be fair, all motorcyclists do to a certain extent) with a minimun of safety gear on. They sit so low to the ground, and swerve around traffic so much, it's only a matter of time before someone cleans them up.

Yes, I know they law in NZ technically allows someone to wear Speedos and a helmet, as long as the helmet is approved, but c'mon, do the sums. Did it hurt when you fell off your pushbike as a kid? It can't not hurt to fall off a moving scooter. Tarmac doesn't have a lot of padding.

I blame the advertisments that show a smiling European couple wearing shorts and a t-shirt with their open-face helmets riding on their new Vespa. How have the local PC Brigade not complained about these ads yet?? My guess; the PC brigade aren't smart enough to figure it out.

Could also be that many of them a car drivers trying to save some cash on their daily commute, and don't hold motorcycle licences. Could it be time to change the law?

Probably works for ACC. They can blame the dangerous motorcycles for all these injuries every year, and therefore justify hiking up the ACC levies bikers have to pay. Sneaky like a corrupt Governmental Fox.

And those fricken suicidal clowns on mini-choppers on public roads. Don't get me started.

Protests over "Cheese Cutter" Barriers

After some young guy got chopped in half by a cheese cutter motorway median barrier (more here), NZ Bikers are considering protesting to the lunatics running the asylum (this means the Goverment, for those who sniffed too many permanent markers at school).

While I would normally point and laugh at such flagrant optimism (that Uncle Helen will actually listen to the public), given that Labour have been getting a flogging in the Polls this year, and there is an election next year, they may have some chance of being listened to.

Also, Helen is pretty savvy, and the motorcycling community has been growing at around 30% per year for the last 5 years, so that could be ammunition for the bikers.

The horribly dangerous bastard things have already been banned in big chunks of Europe, so maybe there is hope.

One scary little factoid; 70% of bikers who hit the pricks (the barriers, not the government) at 85km/h or faster loose a limb.

Not going to talk about it

Not discussing the fucking rugby.

Police shoot another loser. Awesome

Christchurch police have managed to help clean the nations genepool a bit with the shooting of another deadbeat (story here).

Oh dear, how sad, never fucking mind. The world is poorer for having one less mouth breather using up my tax dollars. Because he contibuted to society by..... Umm... Can I get back to you on that?

Of course, the left wing lunatics are having a field day, including the mother of the last asshole shot and killed for trying to attack a cop.

As an aside, why is Wallace (in the link) referred to as a victim. I would have thought running at an armed cop with a baseball bat and golf club was closer to suicide. "Cause of death: Too fucking stupid to be allowed to live."

Maybe these twits parents could start a club. "Parents of Morons who go for Armed Cops; PMAC)

By the way, this must be once of the best exchanges ever:

"Why did you shoot my friend?" five-year-old Jayden Prior asked a policeman moments after he had watched him kill Stephen Bellingham.
"Us cops don't get paid enough to go home in a box," was the answer Jayden's older brother and father heard.

Superb. Bravo to that Police officer.

Uncle Helen puts her foot in it, again

John Key suggests suspended Assisitant Police Commissioner Clint Rickards should be removed. Fair call. He could never seriously return to a senior position with the Police (despite a "Not Guilty" verdict, which, as an aside, demonstrates the public's opinion of the NZ Court system). This may, naturally, involve a payout to Rickards for breaking his contract (the figure of a million has been thrown around.)

Uncle Helen, in her wisdom, calls this suggestion "Reckless" with Government funds (Full story here). This is because a disciplinary procedure is under way. And has been for three years. While Rickards remains on full pay (estimates range from $200K to $250K per year). And they've ignored that if the substantially demote him, they will have to pay out a whole pile of money anyway.

So, Rickards has collected somewhere between $600K and $750K over the last three years (while he studied for an MBA, and I understand is now doing a law degree) instead of the Government paying him, say, a million bucks to walk away, which would be "reckless" with Government money. And, he'll probably end up with a big settlement anyway. Clint Rickards, you are officially a genius, and my workplace hero.

And when did the Labour Party get all prissy with taxpayer dollars?? Has she not been paying attention for the last eight years??

What bothers me, above all else, is that by all accounts, Helen is an intelligent person (these are other people's accounts, I'm not brave enough to go anywhere near her. You'd need to be a brave person to look at that mug first thing in the morning without screaming). And yet, her comment on this strikes me as the stupidest thing I've heard in a while.

Ahh well, there's an election next year.

Freedom!!! NZ citizens can make a difference. Here's how...

You still have 30 hours left until end of Friday to have your say on the Electoral Finance Bill.

The bill in its current form will regulate almost all political discourse next year. Participation in the political process will be something you have to jump through hoops, not a given right. Labour, Greens, NZ First are showing little signs of accepting how flawed the Bill is. In fact the Government is blatantly lying about its effects.

So please please take 30 minutes out of your day or evening to make a submission. It does not have to be long and you can do it online. They should be in by the end of Friday. Here is how:

1. Go to http://www.parliament.nz/en-NZ/SC/Su...nance-Bill.htm
2. Click on “Make an online submission”
3. Select Yes or no as to whether you wish to appear before the Select Committee to speak to your submission. Unless the thought of doing so freaks you out I encourage people to say yes. Your submission will have more relevance if they hear from you directly on why you do not want your rights interfered with. It also makes it harder for them to rush it into law.
4. Enter in your name, and contact details. Also if you are appearing, list your name and number as a witness.
5. Then click next page
6. Now you can either import a word document with your submission in it, or type in your submission in the box provided. Then click Submit. It is as easy as that. Just be aware the page times out after 20 minutes so write your submission first and then follow through the process.

Now comes the question - what do you say. Well first of all you need to say what do you want them to do with the Bill. There are broadly three choices. To pass it unamended. To pass it with amendment. Or to reject it by recommending to the House it does not proceed. I think people should say something like:

“I ask the Justice and Electoral Select Committee to reject the Electoral Finance Bill and recommend to the House it does not proceed because it seeks to impose draconian restrictions on political advocacy and speech for which there is no electoral or public mandate”

I would then expand on the point that there is no mandate for these third party restrictions in the Bill. Point out that there has been no public policy process around the Bill. Point out that it has not been possible to even debate it until a few weeks ago and that one would expect sweeping changes of this nature to come at the end of a lengthy public debate, not at the beginning.

Also point out that why you don’t want the bill merely amended is because you will then have no chance to have meaningful input into the revised bill. State that your preference is for a public policy process to be used to explore issues and develop options around electoral reform, and then for legislation to be advanced.

Then you may want to highlight some features you find undesirable. Below I give some examples you can incorporate. But at the end do it in your own words. Here’s a short list of undesirable features:

* It extends the period of “regulated speech from 90 days to around 11 months, meaning New Zealanders will spend one third of their lives restricted as to their advocacy.

* It defines as an election advertisement taking a position on any proposition that a party or candidate is associated with, which will elevate parties and MPs to first class citizens, as the moment they take a position on an issue, it becomes a restricted topic for all other New Zealanders

* It covers not just traditional advertising, but is worded so that every e-mail and every website (except non commercial blogs) fall under the regulated speech regime

* It has an almost unworkable bureaucratic system of sworn statutory declarations for any person or organisation spending even $1 expressing a view for or against a party in election year

* It bans any unincorprated society with even one member under the age of 17 from spending more than $100 a week on political issues

* It bans political parties from being able to run issue advertisements

* It requires every organisation that spends more than $100 a week or $5,00 a year on “taking a position on any proposition that a party or candidate is associated with” as having to register with the Government and reveal all non trivial sources of income. This will affect hundreds if not thousands of organisations

* It requires third parties ot hand over anonymous donations over $500 to the Government yet allows political parties to accept anonymous donations of no limit at all.

* It restricts an organisation to $60,000 expenditure in a year on so called election advertising, which barely covers two full page newspapers ads in our largest newspaper, over 11 months. This is a ridiculously low limit to apply for such a long period of time.

* It will legalise Labour’s illegal pledge card over-spending in 2005

* It does not provide for significantly greater penalties for parties that deliberately breach the Electoral Act as happened in 2005

* It prevents a wronged party, attacked by a politician, from defending itself during an election campaign by requiring third parties to register prior to the issuing of the election writs

* It does not crack down on anonymous and trust donations to political parties despite there being a clear public consensus that it should.

* The definition of advertising and publication is so wide that e-mailing a press release, stating your views on a website (other than a non commercial blog), or even making a placard for a protest march will be regulated by the Bill

* That both third parties and political parties are greatly restricted for all of election year which will prevent them from being able to effectively respond to Government initiatives such as the Budget

That probably gives people some stuff to go on. You can also mention that the Governments are set up to serve the people, not to take away their rights to criticise the Government. That any restrictions on these rights should not be rushed into law but only be legislated into law after there has been significant public consultation and input, and widespread consensus. Point out the only consensus amongst the public is that the Bill is anti-democratic.

So get to work people. It sounds melodramatic to say if you don’t have your say on this law, you will lose your say on other laws. But in fact sending in a submission to a Select Committee will actually be defined as a publication and an election advertisement and be illegal next year unless you sign a statutory declaration that you will not spend more than $5,000 on “advertising”.

Also next year if there is a proposed bill, and you are a registered third party and you have already spent your $60,000 on other activities, then you will be banned from spending even $1 on publishing your submission on a law.

Do not trust that Labour, Greens and NZ First will magically make this Bill less draconian. The Government is blatantly lying about what this Bill does. The Greens will agree to almost anything so long as it stops the Brethren and National. Winston I hope will show some sense on this, but I don’t want to rely on that.

Thank you

Bugger

The supermarket has apologised and lifted the tresspass order because of the public outrage.

Yet another victory for the (un)moral minority.

Damn it.

NZ, Leading the world in primary school crime

Ahh, the joys of children. Little wonders. Miracles of creation, and all that.

A 5 year old and 8 year old have been banned from a supermarket for shoplifting.

The 5 year old's mother thinks it's a big hassle because she uses that supermarket.

Here's an idea; are you ready? Scooch in closer, you don't want to miss this; Maybe, just maybe, teach your 5 year old that stealing in wrong.

Honestly, she's not ashamed because she is raising a thief of the future, just inconvenienced because she can't take Klepto the wonder kid to that supermarket again for two years.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you yet another exhibit in the argument for compulsory sterilisation of people unsuitable for breeding.

What a moron.

Turd runs from the police, dies. Must be the police's fault

Well, another moron tries to outrun the police (180km/h in a CRX, kid should have got a medal) and dies.

Of course, his family (sister) now says the police need to take some responsibility for his death.

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/1/story.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10457379

Well, of course they do. They obviously held the little prick's foot on the gas pedal and steered him into a bridge.

By the way, look at the photo of the little squirt. What a loss to society.

Begging for a friend

No rant today (haven't finished reading the papers). A friend of mine's brother is sick. Terminally sick. She is planning on taking him to Australia in November, but needs money to do so.

Please visit http://debxena.livejournal.com/187815.html to read the full story, and if you are able to donate, please do so.

Believe me, this is a worthy cause.

NZ beating it's children.... still

The list gets a bit longer. Another child is murdered by someone who is meant to be caring for them. Seriously, how long can this list get? We, as a country, have to stand up and say this is unacceptable and must not continue.

I notice one of the cowards who helped beat Nia Glassie has complained that he is getting death threats. Well, poor fucking diddums. I hope he does get killed. There is no sentence that is good enough for this asshole. That goes for the rest of this scum as well.

THEY PUT A CHILD IN A CLOTHES DRIER AND TURNED IT ON.

He is clearly a psychopath who is not, and never will be, any use to the country (except, possibly as fertiliser). Someone I work with suggested he be put in a drier himself, with a cinder block. I for one, support this idea.

I notice there was plenty of family at poor Nia's funeral today.

I'm glad they were all able to come together for a public gnashing of teeth in front of the media. Where were they when this girl was being tortured, literally, to death?

In a tragic case of irony, if someone did this to a criminal, rather than a three year old, the bleeding heart liberal civil libetarians would be all over this, calling for an inquiry into mistreatment of the scum of the earth, sorry child abusers.

I notice Pita Sharples has been quick to say this is not a Maori problem, but a community problem. Nice to see a politician is quick off the mark to ensure blame is not heaped entirely on the main part of his electorate. He's not doing Maori any favours in doing this. The fact of the matter is that this is predominantly a Maori problem, and Maori have to take the lead in solving this problem.

I'm actually nauseated by this. This girl would have lived in fear, and pain, for months. How much of a monster do you need to be to do this? Did these people torture animals when they were younger? I mean, WHAT THE FUCK?

And another couple have left their child for 10 days with broken bones before seeking medical help. If this was a dog, they would have had it put down. Instead, they allow an 18 month old to remain in pain for nearly two weeks. I say we break all of their bones and leave them as punishment.

Fucking outrageous.

Right, here we go

I'll say it now, I'm not actually a fan of blogging. The idea that the torrid details of my day-to-day life could possibly be of interest to anyone else is bordering on ludicrous. The details of my life are barely interesting to me.

That being said, lately the goings on in New Zealand have steadily been eating away at me. In order to prevent me going batshit insane, I've decided to use this blog to vent any frustration with the current state of affairs in this country.

It could be things in the news, or just the general state of the nation which gets my blood pressure soaring and prompts me to write here. It won't be a "today I got a glass of water" blog. I've authorised people to cut off my broadband access if it ever gets to that. I'll only post when something gets my goat.
