Police shoot yet another loser......

...in Waihi of all places

Should have shot the fucktard in the head. In most countries, presenting a gun to Police is known as "Suicide by Cop"

Cheesecutters

Transit NZ likes to install cheap wire barriers on State Highways. Unfortunately, these wire barriers tend to dismember motorcyclists who happen to fall off and land of slide into the things.

A young guy was recently cut in half by one of these things.

Now, people can argue that motorcycles are dangerous in themselves, and these people would have a point. However, given that motorcyclists are not at fault for the majority of their accidents involving injuries, it's an issue that should concern everybody.

Anyway, there is a petition set up at www.cheesecutter.co.nz, so if you are keen on maybe making a difference, please sign the in-line petition.

RIP, Sir Ed

Well. A week since Sir Edmund Hillary has gone to climb the mountain in the sky, and the hysteria remains.

Don't get me wrong. In addition to getting to the top of Mt Everest, and walking across ice caps and the like, he, by all accounts, was a genuinely nice guy who worked hard to better the lives of the Nepelese people. Good on him, and all that.

I can't help but wonder though, if he was as genuine and modest as people claim, would he not be embarrassed by the hoopla surrounding his death. Especially since I suspect most of it is for cheap political gain. (What other type of political gain is there?)

Now, I like public holidays as much the next lazy slob, so I'm all in favour of an "Ed Hillary" day. I do wonder if that's the most appropriate way to honour his memory.

RIP, Sir Ed. You were truly one of the last of the generation for who Political Correctness was an unknown term. You went and did whatever you had to do. You will be missed.

Anti-Labour Party Website

Superb:

http://www.dontvotelabour.org.nz

Apparently, the electoral commision is already checking to see if this breaches the "Labour Anti-Democracy Bill 2007"

I would think hosting a single website would come in miles under the spending cap. This is what happens when you get morons trying to stifle democracy; not considering that there are cheap and efficient ways to get your message across.
